Resumen
The present work reports a theoretical review focused on the importance of sexual education in children, adolescents and young people, and the role of educational agents as promoters of care and responsible and healthy sexuality. In relation to sexual education, it has been shown that the educational agents do not assume in a correct way the approach of sexuality in the families, where most of them take it in an inappropriate way or consider that this subject should not be dealt with their children, because they do not have the tools and still have moral and traditional judgment to deal with sexuality both in childhood and in adolescence, passing this responsibility to the institutions and it is in turn to the public policies. Thus, everyone must work together without omitting the limits of each one's responsibilities. Finally, sex education is different at each stage of human development. It is not the same to treat this subject with an infant to an adolescent and an adult, because the understanding and perception of logic changes. There are studies in the childhood stage, which have found different teaching methodologies with positive results, the shortcomings and biases they have with it and the consequences of not treating it. Similarly, in the adolescent stage, studies have been found in which the research shows the perception, the means of searching and the training obtained regarding sexuality, giving favorable results in terms of prevention.
