Resumen
This research presents the feasibility study for the establishment of a processing and transformation plant of low density polyethylene generated in Ibagué in non-conventional paving stones for pedestrian paving, which aims to help reduce the volume of plastic waste generated in the city and the same time creating sources of employment, contributing to the development of the region. For its development and design, a survey of the target population was used, involving 43 respondents, assuming a sampling error of 11.8% due to the health emergency presented in the country during its execution. The main contribution of this work was, therefore, the design of the product, of the process and of the necessary facilities for the operation of the plant, obtaining as final product a paving stone composed of sand and LDPE (75─25%) of dimensions 20x10x6 cm, smooth texture, gray color and weight 1.6 kg; leaving as a continuation of the developed work the determination of the mechanical characteristics that extreme this study. As a result, it was obtained feasibility in all the studied aspects: market acceptance, technical, organizational and financial feasibility, achieving a net present value of $3.649.254.570,65 and an internal rate of return of 460%.
