There is no doubt that globalization coupled with rapid and revolutionary advances in information and communication technologies has to lead one of the most significant paradigm shifts of modern business management. In this new business environment, successful Supply Chains (SC) have to focus on relationship management in order to deliver superior add value for customers and other stakeholders at less cost to the SC as a whole. The aim of this study is to increase the understanding of collaborative relationships and assess the influence of the contributory factors in shaping collaboration network structure in projects developed by Supply Chain in the Context of Global Projects (SCCGP). The research used a case study methodology applied across the project life cycle of eight global projects developed by an Austrian company leader in global market intra-logistics solutions & warehouse automation. The cases were studied using two approaches of the network analysis for both consolidated and step-bystep networks. First, visual and descriptive analysis to describe structural aspects of the network. Second, stochastic network analysis to evaluate the influence of contributory factors in the structure of the collaboration network. Our results evidence a transversal communication of the Project Team Roles (PTR) through the hierarchical structure of the project since the most recognized actors did not present a tendency to communicate exclusively among themselves. The results also show that organization attribute is a key factor in collaborative relationships shaping for consolidated networks and throughout the project life cycle. Additionally, the results highlight the influence of the project manager in shaping the collaboration network and to promote joint work between PTR in the same community, especially in the analysis by project life cycle phases. The results showed that the project leader participates as an intermediary in the shaping of collaborative relationships between PTRs with a high frequency of contact. Even so, the research shows that PTR have the ability to shape mutual and reciprocal relationships with a high intensity of collaboration without the project leader. The results of high complexity projects evidence the influence of tactical perspective in the consolidated networks. The tendency to work in communities and form small clusters or complete triangles turned out to be significant with and without project manager. Additionally, high complexity projects showed a greater influence of cultural diversity in the formation of collaborative relationships in consolidated networks and throughout the project life cycle. Finally, characterization by nature provided a characterization more homogeneous of the projects and allowed the identification of other key aspects in project management such as the cultural, geographical, and organizational heterogeneity of the actors involved. This research provides a methodology to identify the key actors and contributory factors in shaping collaborative relationships in SCCGP. The findings could be used to support the decision-making process and formulation strategies for effective collaborative relationship management in SCCGP.
