Resumen
The characterization of the models of health systems applied worldwide was carried out, as well as the theoretical elements proposed for the configuration of the same. For its realization, the secondary information sources, the academic publications, the scientific bases, such as Scopus, Scielo and Pubmed, and the websites of the countries studied and the World Health Organization. Initially, a general bibliometric analysis was carried out through network theory, to make a general characterization of the academic field and identify the relevant parts in this area of study (search keywords, countries that respond to research in the area of health systems). Subsequently, the characterization of the health systems models of the countries under study and a comparison between them was carried out. The variables that were used to characterize and compare were the actors immersed in its systematic functioning (Rector Body, oversight bodies, financing mode, adapted health model, type of population coverage and indicators regarding the capacity of the Health). Within the results, it is highlighted that Colombia has a health system similar to the health systems studied, in terms of structure, administration, form of financing and base model of adapted system like Bismarck, Beveridge, or Insurance Private Model). That similarity is mainly with the healthcare systems of Germany, Belgium, Brazil and Chile. However, there is a large gap based on the performance indicators, since it has the poorest returns according to the analysis carried out.
