The present work of degree teaches the analysis and the evolution in financial terms, economic and business strategies that had the economic group "Royal Hotels" during its history. The first part is framed in the description of the most important events that gave rise to the birth and to where the expansion of the chain in the hotel field. The second part exposes the problem of research, the theoretical framework and the importance of this study in the macro-project carried out by the University of Ibagué on Colombian economic groups. The main objective pursued by the research and the methodology used in the development of the collection, financial analysis and interpretation of the qualitative and quantitative information covered by the Royal Group is stated. The last part refers to the analysis of the results obtained; the evolution of the business group, the financial performance it had, the sources and uses of financial resources, and the growth strategies carried out by the Royal business group for its consolidation in the first places in the hotel sector in Colombia. At the end, the conclusions reached with the study are presented and the main and specific objective of the monograph is answered.
