Design of a shredder for car and truck tyres with a capacity of 1 ton/day for Renova Ruber in Ibagué as a complement and development of their commercial activity. For the development of the project, the existing commercial prototypes were taken into account and revised, in order to identify the process and its main variables on the basis of these prototypes. From this review, 3 Design alternatives were proposed, the objective of which was to evaluate and select the most optimal and appropriate according to the conditions exposed by the company Renova Ruber (Robustness, Power Transmission, etc.). As a final selection, a double shaft shredder design with blade blades and direct coupling power transmission system was chosen. Together with the design of the tyre shredder, a conveyor (conveyor belt) was finally selected and designed to make the work of the operators safer and more ergonomic due to the weight of the tyres and the height of the feeding hopper.
