Resumen
In this project, experimental tests of rotating bending fatigue were developed with AISI SAE 1020 steel and AISI SAE 1020 steel joined with electrode E 6013, in order to obtain the number of cycles required for the material to fail, the results have been analyzed based on the wohler graph generated according to the material and the tests carried out. This graph represents the duration of the test piece, expressed in the number of cycles until rest. The methodology of the research project includes steps such as the collection of information about the trial and similar studies, the manufacture of the test material following the guidelines generated by ASTM E466-96, the design of the union based on AWS recommendations. Described in the welding manual D1.1, the execution of the welded joints, the preparation of the material to carry out the tests in terms of its surface finish, the calibration of the sensors of the RR machine. Moore from the University of Ibague, later determined the value of the variables involved in the test (loads-frequencies-efforts). Data collection was performed for 30 tests, distributed as follows: 15 NT tests (normal samples) and 15 ST tests (welded samples), obtaining mainly 3 data values (number of cycles to material fracture, applied voltage and duration) of the test) Based on the experimental tests carried out, it was determined that the welding has a negative influence on the fatigue life of the material, since the fatigue life of the tested material was reduced by approximately 30% compared to the NT samples; It is important to note that this reduction to fatigue occurred under the particular conditions of the tests carried out. Likewise, the relationship between the load level applied to the test material and the generated fracture was observed, since for high load values a type of fragile fracture was observed and for low load levels a type of ductile or moderately ductile fracture was observed.
