Efecto del pesticida neonicotinoide (imidacloprid) sobre la tasa metabólica estándar de larvas de Apis mellifera.

dc.descriptionEn general la gran mayoría de estudios de los que existe información publicada, han mostrado efectos subletales negativos asociados al pesticida imidacloprid en las abejas, relacionados con efectos conductuales, y muy pocos con efectos fisiológicos. Por este motivo, la presente investigación evaluó el efecto del pesticida neonicotinoide (imidacloprid) sobre la tasa metabólica estándar en larvas de Apis mellifera, expuestas a temperaturas diferenciales de 25 y 35°C. Para esto, se realizó un estudio experimental combinado en donde se establecieron doce colmenas de Apis mellifera, de las cuales solo diez se adaptaron a las condiciones del sitio experimental; ubicándolas en la finca El Gran Pescador, Km 11 vía Rovira, sector el Totumo, a una altura de 1.000 a 1.200 m.s.n.m. y bajo la influencia de un relicto boscoso húmedo premontano. Las diez colmenas fueron alimentadas permanentemente con jarabe a base de azúcar, miel y agua. Cinco de ellas solo fueron alimentadas con jarabe (tratamiento control) y cinco con jarabe + imidacloprid a una concentración residual de 0.0025 ppm. De cada una de las colmenas experimentales (control y control + imidacloprid) se extrajo un mínimo de 100 individuos, para esto se tuvo en cuenta el tiempo de postura del huevo hasta la formación de larva, teniendo presente que fueran individuos del día 9. Posteriormente, las larvas fueron debidamente pesadas y analizadas bajo un sistema de respirometría foxbox, con el fin de obtener el valor de la tasa metabólica estándar para cada uno de ellos. Los análisis estadísticos se realizaron a través de modelos mixtos, utilizando la variable mlco2/g*min como respuesta, el tratamiento y la temperatura como efectos fijos y masa corporal, tiempo de postura y colmena como efectos aleatorios. Las larvas sometidas al imidacloprid sufrieron un aumento en su masa corporal, lo que demuestra que existen diferentes formas de reacción del metabolismo de las larvas expuestas a dosis residuales de estos plaguicidas, confirmándose que si existe una afectación de los mismos no solo en la masa corporal sino también en el metabolismo en este estadio ontogenético, pues los resultados obtenidos apoyan investigaciones anteriores, donde se establece que este pesticida afecta la actividad metabólica en las abejas. En las larvas expuestas al tratamiento control + imidacloprid, se evidenció una tasa metabólica menor que en aquellas que solo fueron alimentadas con tratamiento control, lo que puede indicar que el pesticida actúa como un inhibidor del ritmo respiratorio y la actividad en estos individuos, desencadenando en el mecanismo de desintoxicación inducible, como respuesta para la eliminación de estos compuestos.es_CO
