The present study is a new alternative for the treatment of solid plastic waste through collection models that facilitate its processing and reuse. A field to apply the resolution of routing problems based on the travelling salesman. In this case, the objective is to formulate a routing model for the selective collection process of solid plastic waste in the city of Ibagué for the year 2021. In such a way as to reduce distances and time in the collection process, in addition to contributing to compliance with Resolution 1407 of 2018 implemented by the Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible. In the first instance, it is estimated that the amount of solid plastic waste generated in the city of Ibagué is approximately 52420.85 tons per year. Thus, the research is carried out by identifying implications and other considerations to define the input elements of the model. Although the study is affected by the current pandemic situation due to covid-19, the routing is developed through the use of web development tools and the use of Google Maps services. The results are presented by means of a web page where the optimal route, the necessary indications to carry it out, the distances to be covered and the estimated travel time are shown. In the same way, it is a source of information and facilitates the user's interaction with the elements provided in it. In summary, the method used promotes and boosts digital innovation with the use of API ecosystems, by adding artificial intelligence and efficiency to the collection models for waste management.
