This paper intends to analyze the legal and jurisprudential development through which forests have been structured as subjects of law in Colombia in the light of the theory based as a methodology; In this understanding, the relationship between the human being and the environment will be studied, in addition, civil and state responsibility for environmental protection will be investigated to later summarize the regulatory provisions related to the protection of forests in Colombia, consequently, the judgment of the Constitutional Court that declares the Amazon Forest as a subject of rights will be analyzed. Finally, an analysis will be carried out by way of conclusion by means of which an analysis tool is structured that makes visible the axiological budgets through which natural resources are determined as subjects of law.
