In previous years, the mother was the one who had the responsibility of the household chores and the upbringing of the child, but due to the changes in the family structure, at present the father has been allowed to be present in the activities and care of the minor, not only as a figure of authority and financial support. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the relationship between parental involvement and the socio-emotional development of their children between 3 and 6 years of age. The adopted methodology corresponds to a correlational quantitative design, with a sample of thirty parents, taking into account the inclusion criteria. For the collection of information, the instruments "Scale of parental involvement: care and socialization activities (IP)" and "The scale of behavioral evaluation and social competence (SCBE-30)" will be used and for the characterization of the sample, a sociodemographic data questionnaire. Through the analysis carried out by the SPSS software, a positive and non significant relationship was identified regarding the dimensions of parental involvement (direct, indirect care, learning and teaching, games, activities outside the home) with the dimension of Social competence of socioemotional development, on the other hand, between the dimensions of parental involvement and the anxiety and aggression dimensions of socioemotional development, there is a negative and significant relationship.
