La afectación de áreas impactadas por derrames de hidrocarburos en Colombia, ha generado grandes cambios al medio ambiente principalmente a los diferentes ecosistemas; por lo que las principales empresas del sector de hidrocarburos, junto con diferentes autoridades han adelantado estrategias para la prevención y atención de accidentes; definiendo protocolos para la atención de contingencias, reparación de la infraestructura, mitigar y controlar los efectos nocivos de los derrames. Sin embargo y a pesar de los esfuerzos de las empresas del sector y los entes gubernamentales relacionados con el medio; no se dispone de información unificada o consolidada, que incluya la descripción de todas las etapas que involucra un derrame de hidrocarburos; Por lo que la presente investigación, tiene como objetivo describir los procesos que se llevan a cabo durante un derrame de hidrocarburos, que incluya el origen, la fuente, métodos de reparación, estrategias de contención, limpieza , mitigación y recuperación de áreas afectadas. Así mismo, las acciones a desarrollar durante esta investigación serán las siguientes: análisis documental de la información, investigación bibliográfica en donde se utilizarán con el propósito de identificar artículos, libros y revistas indexadas que contengan relación con el tema a investigar como registros visuales y bitácoras. Finalmente se propone elaborar un documento guía que contenga la descripción completa de las diferentes etapas que se desarrollan desde el origen de un derrame de hidrocarburos hasta la recuperación de áreas impactadas y que este material de consulta sea de utilidad para el interés general y para el personal vinculado a este sector de la economía.

The affectation of areas impacted by hydrocarbon spills in Colombia, has generated great changes in the environment, mainly to the different ecosystems; Therefore, the main companies in the hydrocarbon sector, together with different authorities, have advanced strategies for the prevention and attention of accidents; defining protocols to attend to contingencies, repair the infrastructure, mitigate and control the harmful effects of spills. However, despite the efforts of companies in the sector and government entities related to the environment; there is no unified or consolidated information available, which includes a description of all the stages involved in a hydrocarbon spill; Therefore, this research aims to describe the processes that are carried out during a hydrocarbon spill, which include the origin, source, repair methods, containment strategies, cleaning, mitigation and recovery of affected areas. Likewise, the actions to be developed during this research will be the following: documentary analysis of the information, bibliographic research where they will be used for the purpose of identifying articles, books and indexed journals that contain a relationship with the topic to be investigated such as visual records and logs. Finally, it is proposed to prepare a guide document that contains a complete description of the different stages that take place from the origin of a hydrocarbon spill to the recovery of impacted areas and that this reference material be useful for the general and for related personnel to this sector of the economy.
