This paper was carried out to present two design proposals for the physical distribution of the distribution center (CEDI) to solve the problems present in the distribution center of the hilazas Fibrandina S.A.S; these are evaluated using the VPN indicator (net present value) to see the viability of each of the proposals. Currently, there are deficits in the physical distribution, which means that the available cubic space is not used properly, the definition and integration of the different logistic processes presents difficulties because their areas are not defined, in addition the chief and Warehouse assistant do not have the appropriate material handling equipment for the movement of heavy and bulky loads of merchandise. Therefore, this paper is based on a characterization and diagnosis of the current CEDI, an analysis of the demand and proposal of an inventory system. All of the above allowed the design of the CEDI physical distribution proposals, which aim to provide improvements to the processes and distributions of the CEDI areas and in turn incorporating technological solutions. Therefore, allowing the company to increase the available cubic space, facilitate immediate access to any area of the warehouse, provide secure storage of the inventory and accelerate the receipt and movement of the goods in order to provide efficient operation that benefits the company and in turn improve the level of customer service.
