Resumen

Currently the Ibagueran Company of Aqueduct and Sewerage IBAL has created the Program of Wastewater Reuse, this program seeks the implementation of decontamination processes at low costs, in order to provide proper management and use of wastewater that is discharged daily to the water sources of the city. In this regard and as a precedent, IBAL has already advanced an agreement between the Ministry of Environment, the Municipality of Ibagué and Cortolima, an agreement where Ibagué was chosen as a pilot city to develop an environmental management model for agricultural reuse, livestock, forestry, aquaculture of wastewater. Based on the above, the Public Service Company in question has projected new designs and the construction of two wastewater treatment plants, which are: El País Plant and El Escobal Plant.
