- PublicaciónRestringidoEstudio de vulnerabilidad sísmica y recomendaciones de reforzamiento estructural para el edificio de la antigua catedral del municipio de Ambalema, por medio de caracterizaciones geométricas y de materiales y modelación por elementos finitos y elementos rígidos(2015) Girón Vélez, Santiago Andrés; Grupo de Investigación Rastro Urbano; Vallecilla Montoya, Jorge OlmedoThis project contents the seismic vulnerability evaluation of the antique cathedral building of municipality of Ambalema in the Department of Tolima. With the seismic vulnerability evaluation has been set to check the stability of the structure under gravitational loads and the proper recommendations for structural reinforcement if required, in purpose to guarantee structural stability and its preservation, given such as importance that this structure represents for the cultural patrimony of the region and the country. The project is divided in the phases: the first one is about documentation and loads evaluation of the structure. Initially an investigation of the clinic history of the building was made, the uses that the structure has had along its use life, modifications, changes and improvements that have taken place over it, events that have affected it, and other aspects. Parallel to this, architectonic and topographic surveys were made in order to make digital plans that allowed to make a first graphic registration of the architectonic and structural characteristics of the building. This first phase also cover the measuring of the mechanical characteristics both linear and non-linear of the materials that compose the building, those of adobe, interphase mortar and wood. Laboratory tests, field measurements (sclerometry, nucleus samples). From laboratory results and those taken measurements the team expects to obtain specific weights of the pieces and constructive materials, as well as compression resistance, flexo-traction, module of elasticity, module of fracture and fracture criteria, which are being developed in the investigation. Second and third phases are out of the reach of this document, however the panning has been enunciated. In the second part of the project a lecture of the result is principally going to be made, as well as the registration and qualification of the information and the development of calculation models and its validation. It’s planned to make a modeling of finite elements and rigid elements of the structures, which will end up on relevant information respecting the actions over them, stresses acting on them and failing mechanisms or collapse. The third phase of the interdisciplinary work is about the recommendations for structural reinforcement and the restoration of the architectonic elements that may be affected.

- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEvaluación de la vulnerabilidad sismo resistente de la edificación laboratorio de ingeniería número 2 de la Universidad de Ibagué.(Universidad de Ibagué, 2019) Rodríguez Rivas, Santiago; Cruz Cárdenas, Rodward Alexis; Guerrero Chávez, Néstor LuisThe study consist in 6 phases; In first part, has compilation of the largest amount of existing architectural and structural information of the building was carried out in the university registry; secondly, a qualitative qualification was completed following the guidelines of the FEMA P-154 regulation. Subsequently, an architectural and structural survey was prepared in the AutoCAD software together with a verification of compliance with the minimum standards of the members of an agreement in title C of the Colombian Seismic Resistance Construction Regulation NSR-10. Likewise, non-destructive tests of sclerometry and ferro-scanning were done to determine the mechanical properties of the concrete and the arrangement of the reinforcing steel in column elements. Finally, a digital model of the building was developed using the ETABS 2016 software, where horizontal displacements and floor sales were found for later comparison with the maximum values admitted by the NSR-10. The results obtained allowed us to consolidate a diagnosis that determined the seismic vulnerability of the laboratory number 2 of university of Ibagué.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEvaluación de la vulnerabilidad sismo resistente del centro de Educación Permanente (CEP) Universidad de Ibagué(Universidad de Ibagué., 2019) Forero Pomar, Carlos Daniel; Cardenas Moreno, Miguel Alfonso; Bonilla Barco, Ivan Santiago; Guerrero Chavez, Nestor LuisThe present degree work presents a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the use of one of the most emblematic buildings of the University of Ibagué (Center for permanent education) using the methodologies of the rapid visual examination of buildings for potential seismic hazards: a manual of the Agency regulation Federal Emergency Management - FEMA P-154 of 2014 and static linear analysis by finite elements. For the conduct of the investigation, the construction parameters were based on the Colombian Construction Regulations. The study consists of 5 phases; It began with a collection of the architectural data and the results of the building that was found in the university registry, in the second place a qualitative qualification was developed following the guidelines of the FEMA P-154 regulation. In the third place, an architectural and structural survey was developed in the AutoCAD software with the actual measurements in the area of interest while performing a check for compliance with the minimum sections of the members according to what is refers to Title C of the Colombian Regulation of Construction Earthquake Resistant NSR-10. Likewise, non-destructive sclerometer and ferroscan tests were carried out in order to determine the arrangement of the steel and the mechanical properties of the concrete for the construction of the column type elements. ETABS 2016 has been published in the ETABS 2016 software in which the different horizontal displacements and floor drifts have been included to make the comparison with the maximum admissions of the NSR-10. The results were allowed. Keywords: Seismic vulnerability, earthquake resistance, lifting, destructive.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEvaluación de vulnerabilidad sísmica del bloque 8 de la Universidad de Ibagué(Universidad de Ibagué, 2019) Jiménez Rodríguez, Andrés Felipe; Ñañez López, Enmanuel; Guerrero Chávez, Nestor LuisThe most effective approach to reduce earthquake risk, is reduce the vulnerability of buildings subjected to seismic loads. The same way, in existing buildings, it is necessary to assess vulnerability with the purpose of know if the buildings resistant capacity is more than the actions that could be produce by the seismic threat in those zones. Among the University of Ibague physical growth plan, it is necessary to assess every existing building to know if them has the require features exposed in the valid norm NSR-10. Due to exposed in the previous paragraph, this monograph looks for to do a seismic vulnerability evaluation on the Block 8 in the University of Ibague Engineering School located in Ibagué, Tolima’s capital city, with the purpose of find out weaknesses in its seismic resistant, if it has it. The execution of this building seismic resistant evaluation was done through the next process: qualitative evaluation and verify the geometric features that it has to have in agreement of NSR-10. Then, were done tests in visible structural elements to know the physics and mechanic features of those elements that compound a portico, like columns and beams. Finally, were made mathematic models based on the gathered information that allowed an analysis through the final results. Those results were compared with the requirements in the seismic resistance construction Colombian norm NSR-10.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEvaluación de vulnerabilidad sísmica para el edificio de dos pisos de la Biblioteca Central de la Universidad de Ibagué(Universidad de Ibagué, 2019) Ricardo Quesada, Wendy Dayanna; Rubio Susunaga, Ana Camila; Guerrero Chávez, Néstor LuisThis report contains the results of the seismic vulnerability assessment for the Central Library building located at the University of Ibagué. There it is identified by means of a quantitative analysis if the structure is potentially vulnerable before possible earthquakes estimated for the zone according to the Colombian Regulation of Construction Seismic Resistant NSR-10. Additionally, it is verified if the constituent elements (beams and columns) comply with the NSR-10 relative to confined zones, where by means of numerical simulations the seismic vulnerability is analyzed.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEvaluación de vulnerabilidad sismoresistente del edificio del Centro de Educación Permanente (CEP) de la Universidad de Ibagué(Universidad de Ibagué., 2019) Saavedra Cuenca, Juan José; Mahecha Varon, Camilo Andres Augusto; Guerrero, Néstor LuisThe permanent education center of the University of Ibagué was built in the year of 1997, it has been used in the academic and administrative use of the students' training, the programs and the development of the University. The center of permanent education is constituted by two blocks, each of them with different years of construction, the proposal presented below, is based on analysis. The document will describe the development of a methodology to evaluate the operation of the building and at the same time it allows to define the criteria to identify the functions in the rehabilitation of the building that warrants or requires it. It starts with the evaluation process with an inspection of the structure, with the first contact that the evaluator has with the building and allows qualitatively know their status and conditions. Then the process of evaluation of damage and seismic vulnerability is carried out, that is to say, how susceptible to damage is building before the action of horizontal forces produced by an earthquake. All the information collected will be used to create a mathematical model and a way to manage the behavior of the structure being in the place where static and dynamic loads will be presented, and destructive and non-destructive laboratory tests will also be carried out determine the capacity of the mechanical properties of the materials used in the construction of the structure. All the analysis carried out will yield the results that obtain a diagnosis of the vulnerability of the structure.
