- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAnálisis del índice normalizado de diferencia de vegetación (NDVI) en la zona centro del departamento del Tolima(Universidad de Ibagué, 2019) Rodríguez Salamanca, Valentina; Urquiza Collazos, Lina María; Hernández López, Jorge ArmandoIndustrialization in agricultural sectors and the phenological characteristics that have occurred along years in the Center of the Tolima Department, have directly affected any type of balance that exists in this area, generating deterioration of the riches of the soil, subsoil and their aggregates. The study requires the implementation of satellite in the area from above provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), adjacent to an atmospheric correction of the effects of aerosols and radiance intrinsic to achieving better visual quality; thus finally through the Geographic Information System (GIS) program, apply the methodology of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), in order to estimate the development, quality and quantity of the plant cover of the studied extension. Among the most important results of this manuscript, is that change in the vegetation in this area of the Department, it is directly influenced by the growth of the agricultural and livestock activities in this region in the Nineties (this result is more significant in the municipalities of Alvarado, Ambalema, Venadillo and Piedras), since the Department of Tolima is listed as one of the agro-industrial powers in the country.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDinámica espacio temporal de índices espectrales y su relación con parámetros hidrológicos en la zona sur del departamento del Tolima(Universidad de Ibagué., 2019) Mazuera Hernandez, Daniel; Martinez Garzon, David Fernando; Hernández López, Jorge ArmandoThe contamination by fixed sources is causing adverse effects on the environment. This causes physical, chemical and biological alterations for the planet's soil, as well as effects on vegetation cover, presence of water and surface temperature. To carry out the study, satellite images from southern Tolima taken from the Landsat 5 and 8 satellites were used, which were obtained through the geological service page of the United States (USGS). The atmospheric correction of the images was carried out using the IDRISI Selva software. The NDVI, NDWI and surface temperature were processed and analysed with the help of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS), using the ArcGIS 10.3 software. From 1989 to 2018 there is a loss of vegetation (15%) and water resources (9500Ha) in the flatter areas of southern Tolima, were directly affected by high temperatures (greater than 24˚C). On the other hand, in the high zones that lost vegetal cover (5%) and presence of water (2500Ha), its temperature did not increase.
