- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDeterminación de la temperatura superficial en el Río Saldaña mediante información satelital(Universidad de Ibagué, 2018) Zerrate Díaz, Michael; Triana Díaz, Vanessa; Hernández López, Jorge ArmandoOver the years, the reduction of vegetation cover has been noticeable in the areas surrounding the rivers present in the Colombian territory, emphasizing one of the most important such as the Saldaña River, due to this reduction in vegetation cover. The surface area of the basin's land area increases, generating a negative impact on forests and jungles. The most representative causes of this problem are the poor management of the water source by the agricultural and agricultural sector, the pollution generated by humanity and industry. For the development of this study, NASA and the USGS (United States Geological Survey) used information provided Landsat satellites, which have the capacity to obtain images with thermal information of the terrestrial surface, operate the satellites. In the processing of the satellite images, two software were used, initially the IDRIS TERRSET was used for the correction of the images so that the processing is then carried out in Argis, which is where the delimitation processes of the basin and the NDVI calculations are carried out (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and surface temperature. Finally, the results are compared in order to relate them and identify the dependence of one with the other. The objective of this project is to calculate the surface temperature in the Saldaña River through the analysis of satellite images and thus be able to select the spatial information of the river in the period from 1989 to 2014, in turn, calculate the Indice of standardized vegetation difference (NDVI) of the Saldaña river basin to establish its behavior and relationship with surface temperature.
