La mezcla compuesta por un 10 % de diésel, 35% de aceite de higuereta y 55% de etan ol, ofrece resultados favorables. Puede ser uti- lizada en un motor de encendido por compresión sin necesidad de modificar. Para el estudio comparativo fue seleccionado el ensayo de espiga en disco ( Pin on Disc ) el cual no pretende representar todas las condiciones que pueden experimentarse durante la explotación de una máquina o mecanismo, sino que se utiliza para com- parar la magnitud del desgaste en un elemento de un par triboló gico estando presente el diésel y la mezcla estu- diada. La mezcla biocombustible a rrojó mejores resultados en co mparación con el diésel, disminuyendo el vo- lumen perdido en un 35%. Esto demuestra un mejor comportamiento en cuanto a la lubricidad y por lo tanto la posibilidad de prolongar la vida útil de cualquier componente q ue sea lubricado por el propio combustible..

- PublicaciónSólo datosEffect of machining fluid like quenching media on the friction and wear behavior of AISI 1045 steel(International Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Technology, 2018-07-30) Pérez Ruiz, Eduardo Alberto; Llano Martínez, Jorge Fredy; Ravagli, Santiago; Negrín, IvánThe hardening of medium carbon steel is commonly reached through the quenching heat treatment. In this treatment are used different substances like quenching media to improve high mechanical properties and wear resistance. In this work, quenching treatments were conducted to study the effect of the water and machining fluid in mixtures like quenching media on the coefficient of friction, the mass loss, the hardness and microstructural behavior at the AISI 1045 steel. The quenching treatments were heated at 850 C in an electric furnace, and sustained 40 minutes, until to achieve a homogeneous structure. The quenching media used were water, 90% water–10% machining fluid, 70% water-30% machining fluid and 60% water–40 % machining fluid mixtures. The results indicated that all quenched samples reduced the coefficient of friction in comparison with steel in commercial condition (without hardening). Likewise, the quenching using water favored to obtain high mass loss (wear) in the samples. The way of reduce both the coefficient of friction and mass loss, was to realize the tempered after quenching process. However, the use of the 60% water–40% machining fluid mixture allowed to obtain values of coefficient of friction and the mass loss at the same level that those obtained after of tempered treatment, indicating the possibility of skip this treatment
- PublicaciónSólo datosEffect of repeated scratches on the stresses behavior in a coated system(International Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Technology (IJMET), 2018-08-30) Pérez Ruiz, Eduardo Alberto; Negrín, IvánSome methods of evaluation of mechanical properties have been used for the determination of properties in coated systems. These methods include the indentation test as well as the scratch test, which is equally easy to perform and regularly does not require special preparation of the test bodies. The scratch test has been carried out experimentally and numerically for several decades to analyze the adhesion resistance and failure modes of hard and thin coatings deposited on metal substrates. The test allows to establish the relationship of normal load values with the failures in the system, in this way, the test delivers a quantitative measurement of the load for the failure of a coating deposited on a substrate. The failure modes associated with the scratch test have been identified based on observations and analysis of the groove created during the sliding of the indenter in a single scratch movement. The main objective of this study was to analyze, via simulation by finite elements method, the behavior of longitudinal S11 and transversal S33 stresses and the correspondence with the failure of a coated system, considering the contact and displacement of a hard particle and rigid in repetition of up to five cycles of scratching along the same groove. The results showed that is possible to establish that with the increase of the scratch cycles lateral cracks may still be present on the sides of the groove since. The stress values reached were always higher than the stress value imposed to the coating in the simulation model.
