The present research work was made with the purpose of applying a business diagnosis to the company Coagro Internacional S.A.S whose objective is to provide to the management the identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats present within the functional areas and the environment, to design a plan of improvement that promotes an increase of efficiency and offers a knowledge about the real situation of the company. In order to comply with the general objective, six strategic objectives were defined, from which information was collected through direct observation, documentary review and interviews that allowed the satisfactory development of the situational diagnosis, thanks to the guidance of the Business Diagnosis Module of Paula Rodriguez Ferro, professor at the University of Ibague, whose tools facilitated the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and then the evaluation with a DOFA matrix. Also, the survey attached to the module had high value to collect the data for the application to the staff belonging to the company, including a classification of functional areas and subareas that being introduced in the Excel tool included in the module, gives numerical classification results that facilitates the determination of critical points to correct and aspects to reinforce. It is with these results that the main fallacies in the area of Environmental Aspects and Production and Service Provision are observed, as well as activities to be fortified in the areas of Strategic Management and Marketing.
