Resumen
In this document, the process of designing a free-flowing hydraulic channel with variable slope is presented, which has the added value of being used as a pedagogical and didactic tool for the learning of channel hydraulics, thus allowing the teacher to handle a tool for the development of his chair. In this sense, basic topics of channel hydraulics are developed, with a theoretical and practical approach. In the theoretical aspect mention is made of the topics that should be known for the hydraulic design of the canal, with its different demonstrations and processes; and in the practical approach the design, both mechanical and hydraulic for this application, is developed by analyzing different alternatives for the selection of the models of the equipment to be designed. In the process, the aspects and needs delivered by the Civil Engineering program of the University of Ibagué were evaluated, in order to comply with all the design and application requirements of the channel. Finally, based on the results and analyzes obtained, it is concluded that the geometry supplied and the structural profiles selected and evaluated, present resistant conditions suitable for their manufacture and assembly.
